Nate Rickles, PharmD, Ph.D., BCPP
University of Connecticut
Dr. Nate Rickles and I have been collaborating since 2010, when he began studying grant writing with me at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Since that time, we have been funded on a number of studies involving medication adherence, health disparities, opioid misuse prevention, and more.
Our latest collaboration, the Adopt-A-Health-District program, funded by SAMHSA, takes undergraduate student interns and places them in health districts across the State of Connecticut to support the design and implementation of opioid misuse prevention programming.
Next for us? Scaling this program to a national model!
Paulette Paul
President, OSDPC
Paulette Paul, a court interpreter in Massachusetts, mother of two, and native of Haiti, has been the president of Organization of Support to the Development of the Plateau Central, Inc. (OSDPC) for 20 years.
OSDPC is a not for profit organization located in Randolph, MA. Their primary mission is to inspire and empower through health and education. Their vision is to develop and sustain a region for future generations.
I began working with OSDPC in spring 2019 and traveled to Haiti with them that summer to teach journalistic ethics to a group of young print and broadcast journalists.
Then Covid happened and the organization has been unable to travel home as they did for years. Struggling, they nevertheless still succeed in sending funds and goods to the region of the country they support, Hinche.
Haiti gets the short end of the stick in so many ways.

Natalie Miccile, PharmD, MBA
Natalie Miccile is a compassionate pharmacist and the founder of Top 8 Foundation, a unique organization dedicated to bringing joy, healing, and inspiration to children in difficult circumstances through the power of hip hop music, dance, and art. With a deep belief in the therapeutic potential of hip hop art forms, Natalie created the nonprofit to combine her expertise in healthcare with her love for creative expression.
By bringing Team USA breakdancers to settings to communities in need, such as pediatric hospitals, the organization provides a lively, positive distraction, encouraging healing through performance, interaction, and fun. Natalie's mission is simple: to foster a sense of empowerment and joy for people who need it most, reminding them that despite their circumstances, they can always find strength, creativity, and hope.
